Kelly Nottermann

I’ve been on the Buffalo Mountain Market board since 2022 and am running again for my second term. I am a Hardwick resident and have been a loyal shopper since 2001 at Buffalo Mountain Co-op, Hall’s Market and then Village market, and now the Buffalo Mountain Market.

I care deeply about locally produced food and food businesses, and about food access and food security for everyone in our community. Local grocery stores provide more than just food to a community – they build the community by offering sustenance, employment, and a meeting place, all while helping the local economy thrive by circulating more dollars within our community. Operating a store within walking distance of a village creates food access for community members with potential food insecurity.

I currently work as the communications director at the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF), based in Montpelier. I am responsible for marketing communications and public relations for all VSJF programs, including the Vermont Farm to Plate Network – collectively implementing the 15 Strategic Goals of Vermont’s 2021-2030 food system plan. My current role helps BMM by offering the latest resources and support available from a statewide food system plan level.
