Emily Lanxner

My name is Emily Lanxner, and I have been a member of the Buffalo Mountain Food Co-op for 20 years.

I am interested in serving as a board member because I am very concerned about promoting healthy, local, sustainable, and most of all organic food choices. I am also deeply concerned about the co-op staying true to its mission statement, values, and goals – despite a transition to the “hybrid” store model as we absorbed much of the merchandise and business model of the previous mainstream supermarket.

I have been a musician and cultural educator for forty years, and a dedicated environmental activist for ten years, focusing on pollinator protection.

The valuable skills that I would bring to our board include project design and management, event planning and organizing, community leadership – as well as personally sharing many of the educational, health-oriented, and sustainability values stated by the co-op.

Personal and community integrity is very important to me, and I want to help the co-op stay true to those values.
