All About Local

We are committed to sourcing as much as possible from our communities and we strive to stock a wide variety of produce, goods, groceries, meats, and frozen items from local suppliers, many from within 30 miles. Buying locally keeps money in our community and can strengthen our food system. To date, over 20% of our sales are of local products.

Look for our local, regional, and member-made labels to guide you to VT products throughout the store.

What is local?

We use Vermont’s definition of local, which uses the State of Vermont as the boundary that defines what is local. Over 20% of our sales come from local products. We are striving to increase that percentage. Look for the Local Label showing which products are from Vermont.

Produce

We work with over 50 local farms to bring you the freshest produce possible. When less local produce is available in the winter, we focus on sourcing regionally. The labels for produce tell where the produce is from and if a product is certified organic, certified real organic, grown with organic practices, or conventional.
