Hello Co-operators and Friends,

Thank you for your continued support as we keep moving forward into the new year. Before anything else, we want to take a moment and recognize the life and loss of a dear friend to the co-op.

💙 We are sad to lose our colleague, friend, and force within our community, Regina Troiano. While she dealt with several health complications over the past year, her desire to live and do made it seem like she would be with us forever.

An amazing gardener with beautiful perennial beds, Regina worked at the co-op for over twenty years as our bookkeeper. Her straight-shooting nature and attention to detail made her an excellent fit for the role and an asset to our co-op community. She also served on the Hardwick Food Pantry board, worked many years with Bread and Puppet Theater, served her town of Stannard in the town clerk’s office and also as treasurer, and supported her husband, Chip, as State Representative.

Regina adored food and travel. She often would shop to find the right ingredients for the latest dish she wanted to try and share the incredible recipes she found. Her trips often included exploration of food and dining. If you needed a restaurant recommendation, Regina had one ready.

Our co-op and community have lost a fiery, brilliant force. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and community. We are grateful that she is at peace and we celebrate her as a light in our lives.

Her full obituary is available here in the Caledonia Record.

February Updates

Requesting Memories for our 50th Anniversary

As part of our year-long celebration of 50 years of continuous co-operating in Hardwick, we would like to collect your memories of our time together: from the early beginnings of a food buyer’s club, to the store on Wolcott Street, the Jeudevine Mansion, the old IGA, and then Mill Street. We’ve got some old newspaper clippings from The Hardwick Gazette, but we need a lot more! Our goal is to combine everyone’s memories into an album and a permanent gallery/archive for our website and possible displays inside the store.

If you have memories — anecdotes, clippings, photos, movies, etc. — that you don’t mind us sharing with the community, please send them to memories@buffalomountaincoop.org.

Freezer and Dairy Cooler Updates

Our new freezer and dairy coolers have been installed and are running beautifully! It looks a little sparse right now, but we will be adding new shelves and filling out the space again over the next few weeks. Anything you’d like to see us carry that we’re not? Drop us a line or come by the store and let us know.

Member Sales

We keep the website updated with our latest weekly and monthly sales, so please stop by and see what’s available. We continue to carry a limited number of flyers in store that can be picked up at the registers, as well.

New Job Opening

We are currently looking for help with our produce department. If you’re interested or know someone who is, more information about the position can be found here.

New Products

Just in this month! Misty Knoll Chicken from New Haven, VT and new sausages from Barre’s Vermont Salumi.

Board Meeting

The next board meeting will be on February 17th at 6 p.m. in the Center for Agricultural Economy in Hardwick. You can either attend in person, or send a request to info@bmfc.coop by 5 p.m. on the 17th for a Zoom link.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for shopping with us. Come by soon, say hello, and help us continue to celebrate community and connections in our 50th year.
